Manhattan got its first snow of the season, Friday, January 7th. A winter storm blew across the Northeast overnight on Friday, dropping the first significant snowfall of the winter on New York City.

I can never get bored of this view. First snow is always magical. © hintsof.life

Snow fell heavily in the predawn hours in the New York region and parts of New England. I spotted the first snow flurries at 2 am. It required planning ofcourse, setting my alarm to catch the first glimsp of the first snow of the season. Jumping with joy, I made some coffee and opened the window to its maximum capacity to smell the snow. The feeling so familiar, so pure, and magical.

The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up in another quite different.

Sleep soon took over me only to wake up to a breathtaking winter view. The trees in the distance were covered in a thick coating of snow, creating a beautiful winter vista. New York Times reported, at least five inches of snow blanketed the city and surrounding areas.

Taking it all in, one breath at a time, this enthralling view from my Manhattan apartment I went on with my day. But with feelings of happiness and gratitude. Thankful, to experience another first snow of the season.
